As you will be aware, Armonia was founded as an Economic Group under UE LAW, to operate as a one-stop shop that aims to encourage the issuance of pan-European licenses. It represents 6.5 million works in 33 European territories, covering the repertoires of SACEM, SGAE, SIAE, SPA (Portugal), SABAM (Belgium) ARTISJUS (Hungary) and SUISA (Switzerland) as well as the Anglo-American works of Universal Music Publishing and the Latin Works of SONY/ATV.
Armonia offers a clear and simple way of licensing a wide range of repertoires for online and mobile use in several countries. Nevertheless, no digital service provider is obliged to obtain pan-European licenses through Armonia. DSPs can opt for panterritorial licensed negotiated individually with each society.
You can understand that, being Armonia merely a negotiating hub, not directly controlling repertoires or rights, the Barnier Directive is not applicable to Armonia as it applies to single collective management societies.
To come back to your inquiry, we confirm that Armonia has been negotiating with Radionomy a multi-territorial agreement. Unfortunately, at the moment, after over two years of negotiation, Radionomy has not multi-territorial agreement in place with any Armonia member. All information on the current status of negotiation are to be considered confidential. However, webradios on the Radionomy platform can easily obtain a license directly from the collective management organization in their respective country.
